Following the success of the ‘Policy Dialogue on Aligning Priorities in the Western Balkans – Vision 2030 – Digital/Green/Health Pathways’ Conference in Sarajevo, a series of monthly POLICY ANSWERS Webinars start in February 2024.
These events aim to stimulate strategic conversations on Aligning WB priorities with those of the EU across three thematic areas: Digital Transformation, Green Deal and Health Policy. They will delve into the significant insights and recommendations derived from the Conference, playing a pivotal role in shaping the strategy of the Regional Platform.
The speaker of the 3rd Webinar is Professor Djordje Djatkov, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University Novi Sad, Serbia. Specialising in biomass as a resource for renewable energy, he focuses on sustainable aspects like decarbonizations, greenhouse gas reduction, circular bioeconomy, rural development, and alternative fuels in transport.
Prof. Djatkov held a DAAD scholarship at the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture from 2008 to 2009 for his doctoral dissertation. During his post-doctoral research, he was a Humboldt Foundation fellow at the Hamburg University of Technology from 2015 to 2016. Actively engaged in national and international research projects, he aims to connect applied research with industry practices. Additionally, he is a member of scientific committees for conferences like “ATAE” and “CEBC” and serves as an editorial board member of “Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery”. Professor Djatkov is also a steering committee member of the Serbian Biogas Association.
Professor Djordje Djatkov will deliver a presentation titled “Overview of the Western Balkans on its Pathway to implement Green Agenda – Challenges, Best Practices and Recommendations”.
