Description of the programme/policy
Bearing in mind that the previous strategic document was valid until 2020, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship began drafting a new document in 2020 and formed a working group consisting of representatives of all institutions and organisations whose activities are important for the field of economy. Bearing in mind the pandemic caused by the corona virus COVID 19 and that all the activities of the Ministry and other organisations that participated in the development of this document were aimed at supporting the economy and the population in order to reduce the consequences of the pandemic, the new strategic document was completed at the beginning of 2021.
Main objective of the programme/policy
Strategy for the development of small and medium enterprises of the Republic of Srpska for the period 2021-2027 is a new strategic document in this area in the Republic of Srpska, which represents the continuation of support policies in this area since 2002, when the first support programme was carried out. It is harmonised with the European Act for Small and Medium Enterprises, which provides recommendations for the regulation of all essential activities for this area, which will facilitate and improve their business.
Specific objective of the programme/policy
The strategy should define the basic strategic goals, carriers and means for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. According to the aforementioned Law, the Ministry is responsible for drafting, implementing and coordinating the monitoring of the implementation of this document. An important role in implementation will certainly be played by the Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska, then other ministries and administrative organisations whose competences directly or indirectly relate to support for this sector, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Chamber of Crafts and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska, local development agencies, the academic community and all other important bearers of activities from the Strategy.
