Code of Ethical research with children and on children in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Description of the programme/policy

With the adoption of this Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an important step forward was made in the promotion and protection of children’s rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the basic goal of determining a minimum shared system of values by the code of ethics, which improves the way of research, and enables its implementation in a systematic and methodological manner. An acceptable and ethically justified way that is in the best interest of the child as a research participant. The ethical code of research with and about children in Bosnia and Herzegovina regulates the status of children and their families as participants in various researches – humanistic, social, educational, medical and all other researches, which may directly or indirectly affect their personal integrity.

Main objective of the programme/policy

The Code is an obligatory document for all individuals, groups, institutions and bodies directly engaged in research focused on children or in which children are, in any manner, involved.
