The programme was launched and prepared under the conditions of a state of emergency during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bearing in mind the importance of including the scientific community, this programme has a special strategic importance for the Republic of Serbia and its citizens.

The main objective of the programme is to support research projects aimed at addressing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specific objective of the programme/policy

The programme’s specific objectives include: Supporting basic, applied and innovative research projects in the field of COVID-19. Encouraging interdisciplinary research that will contribute to understanding the mechanisms of the disease, developing new therapies and vaccines, and improving diagnostics. Supporting the development of new research methods and technologies that can be applied to the study of COVID-19. Encouraging international cooperation and exchange of information and knowledge among scientists and researchers. Disseminating the results of the research to the wider public and the scientific community.
