Role of water in the processing of fruits and vegetables on the spread of AMR

Description of the programme / policy

EFSA is planning to launch a call on the role of the water used in pre- and post-harvest handling and processing operations of fresh and frozen fruits, vegetables and herbs in the prevalence, concentration and amplification of antimicrobial resistance agents (antimicrobial-resistant bacteria), antimicrobial-resistance genes and measures/interventions to control them.
