Description of the programme/policy
HPV vaccination in Montenegro will primarily be aimed at girls aged 9 years. It is given in two doses (recommended an interval of 6 months).
Vaccination will be carried out from by pediatricians at the Health Centre.
Main objective of the programme/policy
The main goals of the programme are to establish a regular and sustainable vaccination process, to carry out the widest possible vaccination catch-up of girls and girls during the first two years of its establishment
programme, to introduce gender-neutral (both girls and boys) vaccination in the primary target group and to reach the goal set by the WHO by 2030 – to vaccinate 9 out of 10 girls by the 15th at the latest birthday.
Specific objective of the programme/policy
From March 1, 2023, girls whose parents have expressed an interest in vaccination will be invited and vaccinated (from
October 2022 to January 2023), and it will be the dominant activity during this month.
After that, no later than the first weekend of April, the vaccination campaign will begin on Saturdays and Sundays
until the end of this school year, parents of girls aged 9-14 will be able to bring their daughters during the weekend and protect them from HPV
vaccine.
At the end of the school year, depending on the expressed interest of parents, we may be able to
let’s make a vaccination plan for girls over 14 years old (ages 15-18, then 19-26 years) through campaigns
catching up.
In the fall, with the beginning of the new school year, we will continue the regular HPV vaccination programme starting at the age of 9
(4th grade of elementary school) but also the vaccination of catching up with older ages in accordance with interest and possibilities.
