Description of the programme/policy

The activities carried out within this programme are:
Water quality monitoring – FORS Montenegro cooperates with local administrations and institutions in order to continuously monitor water quality in rivers, lakes and the sea. This is important for the protection of human health, but also for the preservation of plant and animal life in the waters.
Forest conservation – FORS Montenegro works to raise awareness of the importance of forests and forest ecosystems, and implements activities to preserve and improve forest resources. This includes planting new trees, fire protection, disease and pest control, etc.
Promotion of sustainable development – FORS Montenegro supports sustainable development through activities that encourage the development of ecotourism, protection of natural resources, use of renewable energy sources and the like.
Environmental education – FORS Montenegro implements activities that encourage environmental education, in order to raise citizens’ awareness of the importance of environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources.

Main objective of the programme/policy

The goal of this programme is to contribute to the preservation of natural resources and the improvement of the quality of the environment in Montenegro, through activities that focus on the protection of water, soil, forests and biodiversity.
