Kosovo has been an active participant in the Berlin Process, a diplomatic initiative aimed at fostering regional cooperation and integration among the Western Balkan countries. Through this process, Kosovo has engaged in various initiatives to enhance economic connectivity, infrastructure development, and digital integration within the region.
One of the key highlights of Kosovo’s involvement is the Common Regional Market (CRM) initiative, which aims to create a unified economic space in the Western Balkans. By facilitating trade, reducing barriers, and promoting digital economy standards, Kosovo is contributing to the overall goal of increased regional cooperation and economic growth.
Additionally, Kosovo is committed to the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, aligning its environmental policies with EU standards and focusing on sustainable development projects. These efforts underscore Kosovo’s dedication to regional development and its aspirations for EU integration.
As part of the Berlin Process, Kosovo continues to work closely with neighboring countries to address common challenges, promote stability, and achieve shared economic and social objectives.
Riinvest Institute has led Working Group 4 on the Common Regional Market and Mobility at the Berlin Process 2024 Forum of Civil Society and Think Tanks. During the two days, constructive discussions were held and concrete policy recommendations were generated to address pressing regional issues, to promote cooperation and improve economic integration in the Western Balkans. Our recommendations will be presented at the Berlin Process Summit in October 2024, ensuring that our voices are heard by regional and EU decision-makers.
