Description of the initiative / best practice
The European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI) is an initiative aimed at promoting the development and improvement of clusters in Europe. It focuses on enhancing the competitiveness and performance of cluster organisations through excellence in management and operations.
The ECEI supports cluster organisations in their efforts to become more effective, efficient, and internationally competitive. It provides tools, methodologies, and best practises to help clusters assess their performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic actions.
The new system that will develop from this process will be fully operational as Phase 2 of the European Cluster Excellence Initiative from 2019 onwards.
